During my touring days, I loved dressing fresh every day — which meant traveling with a lot of clothing and a lot of luggage.

Once we were overseas, keeping everything clean became another problem. Laundromats weren’t always open, accessible or even available when we needed them.

When the tour wrapped in the summer of 2018, I came home knowing I needed a better solution.

I spoke to my grandmother about the problem. As an Army veteran, her answer was simple: wear a uniform.

So I did.

I searched for something functional, durable and different and eventually found a dark blue coverall. I started wearing it while traveling, creating and working on set.

It solved the problem — but it also became something else.

The uniform became a conversation starter. People would stop me, ask about it and want to know where they could get one.

But the idea quickly became bigger than clothing.

I started thinking about all of us working behind the scenes — photographers, filmmakers, directors, editors and creators who help shape culture but don’t always receive the same visibility.

The uniform created the connection. The people created the community.

That community became Filmcrü.

Filmcrü exists to create visibility, resources, community, tools and opportunities for the people behind the work.

Clothing may have been the beginning, but the vision is to build an ecosystem for the everyday curator.

A place where creators can discover stories, access useful products, connect with one another and keep building their careers.

We’re creating utility for the everyday curator.

Through stories, products, tools, publishing, experiences, community and opportunities, Filmcrü is building infrastructure around the people who spend their lives creating for everyone else.

Because the people behind the work deserve to be seen too.
