Hi everyone! 👋🏽 Sage East here! I’m an advertising + editorial photographer born and raised in NY. Now residing in NY & LA. 9 years ago I first picked up a camera and haven’t put it down since!
I'm constantly inspired by the style and swag surrounding me. It should come as no surprise that I credit my unearthed passion for photography to the influences of my environment. My art is timeless, innovative, and full of raw emotion, allowing me to transport viewers to an exact moment. My ability to skillfully manipulate color and light contributes to the beautiful aesthetic I've brought to life in my art.
I love that I can capture a moment in time that brings about a feeling as soon as you look at an image. But more importantly, my passion and drive come from the change I'd like within how my community and our stories are being told.
Each industry is different, but they sometimes overlap, and I love bringing an editorial look to an advertisement/commercial project. My favorite thing between all 3 industries (editorial, commercial, and advertisement) is the people I meet and grow with and the many unique creative concepts I work on.
I've worked on some fantastic projects for which I am incredibly grateful; partnering with @hbomax / @thehypeonmax and photographing @offsetyrn and his kids were surreal. Then to also appear on TV in the episode doing what I love was a dream of mine since the beginning of my career. I then had the opportunity to partner with the lovely @ciara for her fashion brand @litabyciara. Most recently, I worked with and photographed @michelleobama. Words can't express the level of gratitude and inspiration I felt on set meeting her and listening to her speak. Moving forward, I'd love to continue elevating the stories I want to tell with the brands and companies that resonate.
I'm looking forward to being more in front of the camera, speaking on the tools I've used throughout my career, and directing commercials and short narrative films.
