What’s goodyy! My name is Alexis Blue; I’m a freelance commercial and sports photographer/designer and owner of my multi-media business, BPO+ Digital Media. I am from Madison, Alabama. My photography journey began in 2016 when I used to take photos of my friends on my iPhone 6. During that time, one of my IG followers posted pictures from a DSLR; intrigued by the quality, I borrowed my sister’s @nikonusa and created BPO+. The following year, I entered college and quit shooting due to a lack of clientele until I met my best friend, whose encouragement ignited my passion. Through prayer and hard work, I can now run my business full-time.

I am passionate about being in the atmosphere of an event I’m shooting. It’s like a “living in the moment” feeling, where every time you go to a different event, you know you will never experience that same feeling again. It makes me feel grateful and appreciative of every opportunity, and I am just able to express how I feel and how my subject feels through my art.

I have been a storyteller for seven years, and throughout that time, I’m so grateful that photography chose me back. I truly feel that most artists have a natural gift at things, and I genuinely don’t feel I had that “raw talent” to photograph. I had to lock in, take photography classes, and learn the technicalities of shooting and illustrating my work in the best manner possible. Photography has always been patient with me, and I’m so thankful for that because I’m genuinely able to do what makes me happy for a living.

My favorite part about shooting photography is seeing the results afterward. I used to enjoy shooting the event the most, but I feel you appreciate your work the most when you’re able to pause, sit back, and gaze upon what you’ve created. You’re able to look at the small details, compensation strategies, what emotion it depicts, and what story you have told.
