Hey, I'm Jassieuo, a photographer and creative strategist specializing in beauty and portrait work, with a focus on celebrating textured hair and diverse beauty narratives. Through a refined yet soulful lens, I capture the artistry of hair and beauty from editorial campaigns to intimate portraits highlighting individuality, culture, and self-expression. My work bridges technical precision with a deep appreciation for authentic representation in the hair and beauty space.
Photography, for me, is more than capturing a beautiful image; it’s about maturing the truth of each subject. Behind the lens, I’m not just looking for light; I’m looking for alignment. I use visual storytelling to help people see themselves more clearly, not just as they are, but as they remember their true selves. Every session is a collaboration rooted in honesty, reverence, and intention. Whether I’m working with textured hair, beauty, or intimate portraits, my goal is always the same: to help my subjects feel seen and to guide them closer to their path by reflecting who they truly are.
My favorite part of photography is being in the studio with my subjects, helping guide them toward the portraits they've been envisioning. There’s something powerful about that space: the trust, the quiet direction, the moment they begin to see themselves differently. It’s not just about posing, it’s about presence, collaboration, and creating images that feel true to who they are.
I’ve had the pleasure of curating with three incredible creatives: @neidraj for Sankofa Gallery in 2023, @itsterrarossa on production for the 4U by Tia shoot in 2024, and @janettkabeh, a multidimensional denim artist whose work continues to inspire me. In 2025, we did a really dope personal project. Looking ahead, I’d love to collaborate with @saintheron on any visually driven project—the creative team at @topicals, whose innovative approach to beauty storytelling deeply resonates with me. And lastly, I envision myself collaborating with a fragrance curator at some point, although I don’t have a specific name in mind yet. This year, scent has become a new focus in my visual exploration. 📸
