Yerrrrr! My name is Darren Tolud, and I am a multi-disciplinary content creator. Born in Manhattan and raised in Piscataway, my creative journey took off rather unexpectedly. In 8th grade, I stumbled upon video editing while goofing around with my friends playing Call of Duty. Little did I know that this simple hobby would greatly change my life. In high school, I started taking Graphic Design classes and teaching myself various digital content creation software through @YouTube tutorials. It was always a random hobby and not something I took too seriously. Fast forward to my senior year, and my surprise, a project I did in class won a National Silver Medal in design at the acclaimed National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, which was presented @CarnegieHall. I attended #RutgersUniversity, where I interned for their football program as a graphic designer. I began sharing my work on @Behance, which opened doors to exciting freelance gigs with large organizations like the 2016 Rio Olympics, @ESPN, and @NBCSports. After I graduated, I joined The @PlayersTribune as a Visual designer. While working there, I was highly inspired by their talented photo and video staff, which led me to purchase my own camera. In 2020, I started working at @RocNation as a graphic designer. Working at #RocNation is where I finally developed my passion for photography. This role has allowed me to produce work for some of the biggest names in #Music, #Sports, and #Entertainment. Recently, I was selected for the @Forbes Magazine @Forbesunder30 — 30 Under 30 List for Marketing and Advertising and was promoted to Senior Digital Content Manager. While I've had the most success with photography, I consider myself a Jack of All Trades in the world of Digital Content. From Graphic and Motion design to photography and Videography, my goal is to continue producing eye-catching work and to keep growing and learning.
I am passionate about what I do because the work of those around me profoundly inspires me. Witnessing the success and achievements of my peers fuels a fire within me, igniting a desire to follow in their footsteps while carving out a unique name and mark for myself.
I've been a storyteller my whole life. The medium through which I share stories may change, but the essence of storytelling has always been a part of me.
My favorite part about what I do is the people I meet and the places and experiences this journey takes me.
