Hey, I'm Monhand Mathurin, of Haitian descent, born and raised in Miami, FL. I've always been involved in art and entertainment growing up. After graduating college and studying the world of audio Visual, I started working gigs around town, which allowed me to learn from other great guys and led me to learn the tech side and ability of a camera. When I
decided to take photography seriously, I started looking at other photographer's work and doing some research. Back in the Google blogger days, I came across a French film photographer, Mathieu Vilasco. After following his work and conversing with him, I decided to pick up my first film camera. I got myself into anything I could shoot, like indie artist shows, random street shots, nightclubs, products, etc. Over the years of meeting and contacting people, I started to land paid gigs through word of mouth and grew from there.
I've been a storyteller for about 14 years. Over time, I started shooting a mix of various projects because I didn't just want to be subject to only one style or form of shooting.
I'm passionate about shooting because Capturing still photos of a moment in someone's life is genuinely captivating. Bringing a vision to life and allowing an individual to be themselves. I always love that a still photo can be forever passed on. Every picture has a story; someone on earth will come across it and have their own perspective of what they're visualizing.
My favorite part about what I do is the freedom to be creative and innovative.
I've curated with @IamLuckyDaye, @NickCannon, and @JustinTimberlake and I want to curate with @SheronBarberatelier, @Pharrell, and @andre3000 📸
