Hey! I am Jada Imani M, a photographer, filmmaker, and creative director based in Washington, DC. I started my career in photography in 2016, where I captured landscapes and nature. In 2017 I moved on to portraits, and by 2019 I immersed myself in event and live music photography. 📸
I am passionate about what I do because it gives me the power to inspire and represent Black and Brown people in various ways. Through my work, I show others how we are in control of our narrative. Capturing my people in their essence is what I am passionate about. It makes my career worth it.
I have been a storyteller since I was a child. I used to grab a bunch of notebook paper and staple it together to make my own books. I wrote a few short stories when I was younger, which eventually turned into screenwriting.
My favorite part about doing what I do is the risk. It is a risk to step out on faith and pursue your dreams. Especially when you have no leads, no money, and no guidelines to follow. I had no choice but to believe in myself the way I do. If I didn't, I would have given up in 2019.
I have curated with @RicoNasty, @AriLennox, and @KaliUchis. I want to curate with @FeliciaTheGoat, @BadGalRIRI, and @Beyonce. 🎞
