Heyyy, I am Samuel Gitori Mironko, a Rwandan-American digital storyteller based in Boston, Massachusetts. My creative journey began in 2013 when I moved from South Africa to a boarding school in Pennsylvania and was required to take part in an art class. I joined the video production program with a couple of friends, and through the different projects we worked on, I discovered a passion for storytelling. At the time, my focus was on video; however, when I got to college, I began exploring digital photography, the medium I mainly use now.
I am passionate about what I do because it allows me to tell stories important to the people I care about and me. I am blessed to represent Rwanda, my father's birthplace, globally and attract as many eyes to such a beautiful country which makes me very happy. I also feel significant autonomy when going through my creative process. This means a lot to me, given that so many parts of our lives are controlled and out of our control. I find joy and peace in what I do, especially when other areas of life can be stressful. This drives my passion because I care about protecting my safe space and passion.
I love traveling and meeting people from different walks of life with diverse backgrounds. I have built many relationships while doing this work and gained perspectives that have helped me live better.
I have worked with the @BurnaBoygram, The @Celtics, and @Sarkodie. In the future, I would love to work with @TrevorNoah, #TheirryHenry, and @NBAafricaofficial 📸
